2019 Schedule

The Ninth Annual Thornapple Woodpecker Festival is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 2019.   

You may walk down the trail any time, going 1 mile north or 3 miles south.  There will be birding experts available, if you would like a tour guide.

•The Conference room in the Village Hall will offer exhibits including a display of Michael DeBoer’s nature photography

7:00 a.m. - throughout day, restrooms and drinking fountain are available in the Village Hall

• The Village Hall will have Seminars and Exhibits from 7:00 a.m. to noon,

• Free parking is available behind the Village Hall, or on the street.

• Trail transportation is available for folks with limited mobility.


Schedule of Events:

7:00 am -noon: the paved trail will have roving and stationary guides and spotting scopes

8:00 am – noon: the paved trail will offer motored cart rides to those needing help with trail mobility

Speakers will offer a 45 minute presentation in the Village Hall Main Hall:

    8:00 am Bird Identification and using eBird : Cal and Jean Lamoreaux

    9:00 am Bird and Nature Photography: Michael DeBoer

    10:00 am Kirtland's Warbler- An Endangered Species Act Success Story: Bill Sweetman

    11:00 am Michigan Bluebird Society: Kurt Hagemeister
